FACULTY LEADER, KS3 APLUS CURRICULUM (LITERACY SPECIALIST) JOB AT DOVER CHRIST CHURCH ACADEMY, DOVER

Are you a specialist KS3 Literacy teacher or Head of Department looking for the next step in your teaching career? Hays Education are currently working in partnership with Dover Christ Church Academy to recruit a faculty leader for the KS3 APLUS curriculum specialising in literacy.

The Dover Christ Church Academy was established in September 2010 in order to radically improve outcomes for young people in the Dover area. In the first year of operation, levels of student achievement increased significantly and through partnerships with Canterbury Christ Church University and recognised leading edge practitioners it is on track to become one of the most improved Academies nationally.

In November, 2011 the section 8 monitoring visit confirmed that the Academy has moved across an OfSTED grade boundary in less than 18 months and was a hugely successful and rewarding experience for both the students and staff.

The Dover Christ Church Academy are looking for an experienced professional to lead and develop the APLUS curriculum at KS3 with a focus on literacy. The APLUS Curriculum is an innovative and successful (OfSTED 2011) competency-based curriculum, which provides an effective transition program from Primary to Secondary.

The ideal candidate will display

• Confidence in leading the APLUS curriculum
• Experience of raising literacy standards across the school
• A commitment to the challenge of academic standards
• A willingness to form part of a successful and enthusiastic team
• A proven track record in successful behaviour and classroom management
